Alice N. Spear

Mrs. Iris Alice Norman Spear, 66, a resident of 105 Grace Court, Chocowinity, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at White Hill Cemetery officiated by Daniel Woods.
Mrs. Spear was born in Craven County on April 14, 1945, to the late Clyde Heber Norman and Mary Martha Rowe Norman. On June 12, 1961, she married Lloyd Earl Spear, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1998. She worked as a cook at West End Circle Restaurant in Greenville for several years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Spear attended Alligood Church of God.
Mrs. Spear is survived by a daughter, Sherry Spear of Washington; two brothers, Jesse Norman and wife Alice of Aurora, and John Norman of Maury; two sisters, Verda Phelps and husband Wilbur of Franklinton and Ann Adams of Vanceboro; three grandchildren, Brandon Purser of Chocowinity, and Terrance Midgette and Taylor Midgette, both of Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Lee Purser and Mason Purser, both of Chocowinity.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Spear was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Clyde Norman, and a sister, Elizabeth Koonce.
