You hear it said to keep North Carolina green and clean. I wonder why the state can’t come and mow the ditch banks along the streets and highways. Down here where I’m at, in the Pinetown area, we had a lot of the cyclists come through here. One of them was telling me they were afraid to ride too close to the edge of the road because there were afraid a snake might pop them when they come along with this high grass. The state needs to do something about keeping these ditch banks and stuff mowed.
Great idea for local car dealers: Instead of hiring want-to-be TV stars and creating cheesy commercials with stupid plot lines, how about hiring those super-smart dogs on the car commercials that know how to back trailers and go camping? I’d be a lot more inclined to buy a car from you.
Regarding Sunday’s editorial on hunger in North Carolina: I agree there is a problem. I feel more emphasis needs to be put on monitoring the individual receiving these food stamps or other good giveaways. Most of these individuals don’t have any problem buying a cellphone or lottery tickets. What’s wrong with this picture?
