Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
Bill Clinton is no longer a politician. He needs to stay out of North Carolina’s business. The reason this country is in the shape it is — he signed NAFTA, the free-trade agreement. That’s the reason we have no jobs. That idiot should not even be on television.
Anyone who’s concerned about their health, the meat they consume and the humanity of this planet should read “The Food Revolution” by John Robbins. John is the son of Irvine Robbins of Baskin-Robbins. This book is a real eye-opener.
Traditional marriage in North Carolina equals one man, one woman, two lawyers and one judge. So glad multiple marriage is safe.
Regarding the closing of the stores downtown because there was not enough business: no one wants to see stores close, but Beaufort County is not a very large county, and it is not economically the highest county in the state. Some people cannot afford to shop in these stores, and they have to look for value-packed bargains. Certainly some places other than Wal-Mart to shop or some other department stores might be better and might serve everyone better, along with some good restaurants.
