If you have been looking for a volunteer opportunity that is fun and inspiring, please consider volunteering for the fifth Washington Triathlon weekend coming May 19-20. The Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Finish Strong, LLC, will host this weekend event. The headquarters for the event will be in Washington Park.

We couldn’t do these events without volunteers. It takes a lot of volunteers throughout the county to pull this off. We are in need of some more volunteers for this triathlon. All you have to do is cheer for the participants and point them in the right direction. We also need cheerleaders at the transition area located on the Washington Park waterfront. You will be inspired to see these great athletes competing.

This year, they will be competing in a 100-mile event, a 50-mile event and the Sprint Triathlon throughout the weekend.  We host these events because of the economic impact they bring to the county. The participants bring their families and friends to watch them compete, and they spend the weekend here. These events fill our hotels, restaurants, shops, gas stations and other businesses.

Every time, numerous times, we hear what a wonderful place this is and that they will be back. Many of the participants pick up real-estate information while here, and many others come back to visit our beautiful town.
