The robbery occurred at the Days Inn on Carolina Avenue in Washington just after 2 a.m. A police press release said that two men approached hotel employees to inquire about a room, but once inside the hotel office, they produced two weapons — a gun and a knife — and demanded money from the register.
According to the statement, the two robbery suspects are described as black men, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, both in their early to mid-20s. Witnesses said the man wielding the knife was dressed in blue jeans and a dark blue polo-style shirt. The man with the handgun was wearing black jeans and a black polo-style shirt. When asked if the men should be considered dangerous, Det. Sgt. Ronnie L. Watson of the Washington Police Department answered, “Absolutely.”
