On June 20, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Greenville people for selling the prescription painkiller Oxycodone.
The sheriff’s office drug unit made controlled purchases of the meds from Jeremy Johnathan Schmaltz, 31, of 44 Squire Drive, Greenville, and Saundra Renee Barnett, 34, of 1725 Cedar Lane, Apt. B, Greenville, over a period of time and at the time of their arrest, the two were in possession of two medicine bottles filled with the drug, said a representative of the drug unit.
“It was a trafficking amount,” said the spokesman.
According to the sheriff’s office Schmaltz and Barnett lived in Greenville but sold to customers in Beaufort County. Both were charged with three counts each of possession with intent to sell a schedule II controlled substance and trafficking in heroin by transportation and possession. Schmaltz was wanted on misdemeanor charges in both Florida and Georgia.
They were confined at the Beaufort County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bonds.
