Two brothers and another relative were arrested by Washington Police on June 27. All three are charged with trafficking in LSD.

“We don’t normally deal with this type of drug,” said Lt. William Chrismon of the Washington Police Department. “But when we heard about it, we went to work on it. Hopefully we can nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand.”

Mitchell Stewart Smith, 24, and Justin Dietrich Kelley, 27, were charged with two counts of LSD trafficking and one count of conspiracy to traffic LSD. Phillip Anthony Smith, 22, was charged a single count of LSD trafficking.

At the time of their arrest, the three men were living on Respess Street, and had in their possession 1400 dosages of aced in liquid form, said a police press release.

“We have to approach this drug in a different manner and proceed very cautiously… Part of what’s so bad about it is that it’s colorless and odorless. There’s always the possibility that someone can ingest it without realizing it. You get this stuff on your hands or ingest it, that could be bad news,” said Chrismon.
