Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
Every landowner should take care of the curb and drain in front of his or her home. Washington would be more attractive, and the drainage would work properly. The city is having to spray herbicides to kill the grass, which blows into our waters and is costly.
The weeds and grasses are knee-high around the Beaufort County Board of Elections building on Highland Drive. I overheard one visitor’s concerns about snakes and increased insects because of the messy landscaping. Whoever is paid to groom the area has missed several weeks, and it’s a poor reflection on our community.
