Ms. Eleanor Peirano Dacey, age 91, a resident of Wynnewood Ct., Winterville, NC, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11:00 AM in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Greenville, NC officiated by Father Edward Wolanski, C.P.
Ms. Dacey was born on May 21, 1921, and raised in Greenwich Village, daughter of William and Mae Gregorie Peirano. She was married to Thomas P. Dacey who predeceased her. Ms. Dacey worked in the records office at Harran High School which is in the New York City School System. She moved from Greenwich Village two years ago to live with her daughter. Her greatest joy was her family, especially being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ms. Dacey is survived by her son, Brian Dacey and wife Eileen of Brooklyn, NY, her daughters, Eleanor Broderick and husband Bill of Chocowinity, NC and Carolyn Becklund of Winterville, NC, her brother, William Peirano of Spotswood, NJ, two granddaughters, Ava Becklund of Winterville, NC and Erin Dacey of Brooklyn, NY, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Autism Society of NC, 505 Oberlin Rd., Suite 230, Raleigh, NC 27605.
