No. 2520, Elzey, is a Pekingese female dog, approximately 2 years old. Elzey’s coat is golden color and she is sweet, gentle, attentive and smart. She needs a forever home and will do best in an adult setting. The Pekingese is a well-balanced, compact dog of Chinese origin with a heavy front and lighter hindquarters. They are small dogs but are not to be considered delicate or dainty. Elzey is available through Saturday. No. 2365. Meet Lilley. This beautiful chocolate Mackerel Tabby cat is about 2 years old. She has a medium-long fur coat of dark chocolate stripes with hints of russet. She is calm and extremely affectionate. She will bring abundant love and cuddling to you and your family. Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Update from our pets of the week last week: both survivors of the Pantego car accident were adopted, according to shelter volunteers.
