A witness to an October larceny identified Mark Shane Tripp, 36, of Chapel Branch Road, Chocowinity, as the man behind the breaking and entering, according to sheriff’s office officials.

On Oct. 7, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Post Road in Bath, to investigate the larceny, according to a sheriff’s office press release. The victim of the crime reported $800 stolen from the residence and a witness saw the suspect leaving the scene, said Major Kenneth Watson, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Nov. 30, Tripp was arrested by deputies in the sheriff’s office patrol division, and charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. Tripp was detained at the Beaufort County jail under a $12,500 bond.
