Mr. Gurnwood “Lee” Radcliff, Jr. age 61, a resident of 1269 New Lake Road, Belhaven, NC, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Mt. Olive Church of Christ officiated by Scott Askew and Patrick Harrison. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Radcliff was born in Beaufort County on October 4, 1951 to the late Gurnwood Lee Radcliff, Sr. and Marion Thompson Radcliff. He was a graduate of John A Wilkinson High School. Mr. Radcliff served his country in the United States Army and later the Army National Guard. He worked for 25 years at Weyerhaeuser. On July, 12, 1981 Mr. Radcliff married the former Sheryl Smithwick, who survives. He was a member of the Ponzer Hunting Club. Mr. Radcliff loved hunting and being outdoors in general. Mr. Radcliff was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, of the home, Mr. Radcliff is survived by a daughter; Amber Mills and husband Ross of Greenville, NC, a grandson; Wyatt Mills of Greenville, NC, and a sister; Jennie Clayton and husband Lynn of Belhaven, NC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Radcliff is preceded in death by a brother; Dusty Radcliff.
The family would like to offer special appreciation to the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.
