Joliene “Jo” Byrd Clark Silvers Gosser LaClair Clark passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at St. Clair’s Church of Christ, Highway 99 South, Bath, conducted by Craig Hagen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Joe Sanderson, Thomas Windley, Bonner Hawkins, Donald Alligood, Tony Brinn and Daniel Hudson.
Joliene was born on August 23, 1932, to the late Mary Marshal Cox and Frank Anderson Clark, Sr. near Bath, N.C. She graduated from Bath High School in 1951.
Joliene spent 45 years of her life living in Chesapeake, VA. She retired a federal employee from the Norfolk Naval Base in 1996 as a computer operator. She moved back to eastern North Carolina in 2006. She was a charter member of the south Norfolk Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. She was a 50 year member of the Somerset, Kentucky Order of the Eastern Star. Joliene was also a charter member of the Beaufort County Genealogical Society.She was the author of several books, one of which was “Pamticoe Cousins of Beaufort County, N.C.”
She is survived by a son, Ramon Fernando Silvers and his wife, Amy of Williamstown, KY; two grandsons, Ramon Cody Silvers and Chase Silvers; two step-grandchildren; Zach and Savannah; siblings, Frank A. Clark, Jr. of Bath; Sylvia C. Mills of Greenville, Mary C. Woolard of Bath, Wanda C. Foreman of Pinetown, and Winnie C. Hylton of Bath and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings: Liddie E. Cretens, Marie Swindell, Donald S. Clark, Lurel Malcolm Clark, Stephen Charlie Clark, Mylon Ray Clark and sister-in-law, Helen Windley Clark.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
