Mr. Bobby Leroy Beddard, Sr., age 73, a resident of Jack St., Washington, NC, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. A graveside celebration of his life will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Pastor Joe Tomberlin. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Midgett, Bryan Venters, Greg Midgett, Jr., Justin Midgett, Kacey Melanson and Derek Toler. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC. The family will travel in procession to the cemetery.
Mr. Beddard was born in Beaufort County on May 14, 1939 son of Leslie and Laura Beacham Beddard. Bobby served his country in the US Navy.  He worked with National Spinning, Flanders Filters and as a farmer. He loved his family and being outside fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby Leroy Beddard, Jr. and wife Mary, and William L. Beddard both of Washington and James McLaurin and wife Linda of Raleigh; his daughter, Karen Beddard Midgette and husband Gregory of Washington; his brother, Garland Beddard of Bailey; his sisters, Dorothy Everett of Belvoir, Betty Lou Lewis of Fayetteville, Essie Black of Greenville and Laura Narron of Washington; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and his closest and dearest friend and caregiver, Harriet “Poochie” Crandall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leslie and Henry Beddard and his grandson, Phillip Thomas Beddard.
