Mabel Furlough Chesson, 93, of Roper, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Roanoke Landing Nursing Center in Plymouth. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Thomas Biggs and Phillip Alligood officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
