Mr. Kenneth Leo Lange, age 85, a resident of Croatan Ave., Bath, NC, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, NC officiated by Danny Smith. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home.
Mr. Lange was born in Washington, MO on October 20, 1927 son of Leo and Esther Mohesky Lange. He served our country in the US Navy from 1945 – 1964. The last ten years he was a UDT Frogman and Seal Team member. He worked for Westinghouse Electric from 1964 – 1990, which included numerous dives with Jacques Cousteau, retiring to Bath, NC in 1990.
He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Vernetta R. Taylor-Lange; son Bruce R. Lange of Bozeman, MT; daughters, Kimberly E. Lange-Williams of Ft. Mill, SC and Karen L. Lange-Lehman of Stewartstown, PA; his grandchildren, Ty and Kimi Nygaard of Bozeman, MT, Crystal Williams-Livingston of Lincoln, NE, Catherine Lange-Bailey of Australia and Leo Lehman of Stewartstown, PA; and his great grandchildren, Isabelle and Madeline Bailey of Australia and Berkeley and Bella Livingston, of Lincoln, NE.
Ken will be remembered fondly by all the lives he touched in his 85 years on this rock we called earth and home. He was a loving soul to all those that knew him well.
