Charlie Jackson Keech, Jr. age 77, a resident 6290 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC died at his home Sunday, January 27, 2013.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Free Union FWB Church officiated by the Rev. Harold Swinson and the Rev. Francis Garner. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the church and other times at the home of his son Gregory J. Keech, 2121 Seed Tick Neck Road, Pinetown, NC. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Free Union FWB Church.
Mr. Keech was born in Beaufort County on May 1, 1935, the son of the late Charlie Jackson Keech, Sr. and Neta Keech. He was a graduate of Pantego High School. Mr. Keech served his country in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He worked as service manager of Keech and Jones Chevrolet in Belhaven, NC, for many years and later worked for Coastal Wood Products, distributors of furniture for Hatteras Hammocks. Mr. Keech enjoyed working with young people and coached the Free Union Little League baseball team and was Scout Master for Free Union Troop 260. He was a lifetime member of Free
Union FWB Church in Pinetown, NC.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory J. Keech and wife Robin and Tony Keech, both of Pinetown, NC; a brother, Dallas Keech and a sister Doris Wilson, grandchildren, Shane Keech, Jade Keech, Osmar Crofton Keech and very special granddaughter Berly Soto. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Don Keech and sister, Ava Mae Poole.
