The folks at the Washington Daily News must be the only ones in the county who are surprised that an open space such as Veterans Memorial Park would attract creatures of nature such geese. Rather than worrying about the goose poop at the park, the paper should work on the nincompoops on the City Council and the county board.
The Legislature in Raleigh is certainly being very diligent. Its members are working extremely hard in an effort to push this state back into the 18th century.
Maybe I’m getting old. What ever happened to being just a kid? I remember Saturday mornings getting up, watching Hong Kong Phooey and H.R. Puff-N-Stuff, cartoons that made no sense. Today’s cartoons have to be educational. I just don’t understand it. I remember playing in the woods and playing outdoors. Now, it’s video games. I just don’t understand it.
