Cynthia Ormond Brickhouse, 75, a resident of Bath, NC went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at The Bath Christian Church officiated by Curtis White. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Lori Norman, located at 302 Carteret Street in Bath, NC.
Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Beaufort County on October, 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Harold Blane Ormond and Helen Irene Credle Ormond who survives. She was married to Samuel Alfred Brickhouse, Jr. on July 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2005.
Mrs. Brickhouse was a graduate of Bath High School and was a member of The Bath Christian Church. She was on the board of The Town of Bath and she was the owner and operator of Cynthia’s Gift Shop in Bath for over 20 years. Her most important qualities was the love of her family, playing cards, and her love of interior decorating.
Survivors include: her mother Helen Credle Ormond; her two daughters: Sherry B. McKenzie and her husband Max of Elizabeth City, NC and Lori B. Norman and her husband Leon of Bath, NC; her two brothers: Harold Blane Ormond and his wife Nelda and Kenneth C. Ormond;  her daughter-in-law Nancy Davenport Brickhouse;   sister-in-law:  Gloria W. Ormond ; Seven grandchildren: Heather Tuttle and husband Rodney, Lauren McKenzie, Max McKenzie III and wife Brie, Robert Norman and wife Misty, Ashleigh Boyd and fiancé Matthew, Sam Brickhouse IV and wife Molly, and Shay Brickhouse; and four great grandchildren. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews who were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her son Samuel A. “Buddy” Brickhouse III, her brother Thomas B. Ormond, Sr..
