William Burrell Crompton, Jr. Lt. Col. US Army Retired, age 84, a resident of River Road, Washington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. A graveside celebration of his life with military honors will be held today at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Dr. Jimmy Moore. A reception for family and friends will be today from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy. 264 E., Washington, NC and then proceed to the cemetery in procession. Hillside Funeral Service  & Cremations is serving the Crompton family.
