Southside honors its athletes

CHOCOWINITY — Southside High School honored its student-athletes who participated in winter and springs sports at the school’s athletic ceremony.
Southside seniors Cole Kellum and Deandria Purdue were honored as the Male and Female Athletes of the Year, while Kyle White and Macy Paramore received the Male and Female Coaches Awards.
Awards were presented to the following student-athletes: Cheerleading: MVP-Danita Gibbs, Courtney Respess, and Danielle Clark; Spirit Award: Megan Elks; Coaches Award: Sandy Wilson; Jump Award: Katie Boyd; Unsung Hero: Tori Avery
JV Basketball: MVP-Rashaun Moore.
Men’s basketball: MVP: Rokeem Miller; Offensive Player of the Year: Donshae Miller; Defensive Player of the Year: Isaiah Moore; Most Improved: Manuel Collins; Floor Leader Award: Kyle White.
Women’s basketball: MVP: Deandria Purdue; Most Improved: Melvisha Dudley; Offensive Player of the Year: Rosiland Clark; Defensive Player of the Year: Kyajia Mourning.
JV Softball: MVP-Alexis Preece
Softball: MVP: Savannah Mumford; Best Offensive Player: Savannah Mumford; Best Defensive Player: Valarie Hodges; Coaches Award: Macy Paramore.
Baseball: MVP: Hayden Bogart; Offensive Player of the Year: Will Mumford; Defensive Player of the Year: Eric Vick.
