Washington Summer Festival: Schedule of events

bluecrab-emblem2013 Summer Festival 30th anniversary T-shirts are available before the festival at the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, 102 Stewart Parkway, and on Stewart Parkway near the Chamber during the festival: $16 for adults; $12 for youth.

 

Friday, June 7

υ5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Festival opens: food, arts & crafts, carnival rides and games on Stewart Parkway

υ7 p.m. Craig Woolard Band: beach music for the ages at Festival Park. Sponsored by PotashCorp-Aurora

υ9 p.m. Fireworks display on the waterfront. Sponsored by FlandersCorp

 

Saturday, June 8

υ10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Food, arts & crafts, carnival rides and games on Stewart Parkway; Potashcorp-sponsored Fossil Dig behind the dockmaster’s office on Stewart Parkway

υ10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lowe’s Kids’ Wooden Building Projects, located in front of the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce building on Stewart Parkway

υ10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Little Washington Sailing Club boat rides. Ages 10 to 18. Launch in front of the Pirate Park, the playground in Festival Park

υ11 a.m. Protown BMX show across Water Street from Festival Park

Sunday, June 9

υ5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. North Carolina Symphony “Meet the Conductor” reception at the North Carolina Estuarium. Tickets $40, for ticket information, call 252-946-9168.

υ6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. New/used instrument drop off for Beaufort County Schools (donate new or gently-used instruments to be used by local school children)

υ6 p.m. Instrument Zoo. Kids can get some hands-on experience with many musical instruements at this North Carolina Symphony-led event in Festival Park.
