To the Editor:

Sunday, June 9, at 12:25p.m., we were traveling on U.S. Highway 17 between Chocowinity and Washington when we noticed what looked like a gray, plastic grocery bag blowing across the road. When we got closer, we noticed that is was not a bag but a little, gray kitten someone had just thrown out of the window of a car. We stopped when we realized what we had just seen and backed up to the kitten. I got out and ran to it expecting to see the worst, but it was still alive but hurt badly.
What kind of person could do something like this to a small, defenseless animal? I just want you to know that you are the lowest of low on the scale of being classified as a human being.
May God have pity on your soul … if you have one.
This kitten now has a loving home to live out the rest of its life.
