Mrs. Catherine Sanders Biggs Shaw, 77, of 381 Styons Road, Plymouth, died July 3, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. General James officiating. Burial will follow in McNair Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Shaw was born August 11, 1935 in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late James Sanders and Mamie Simmons Sanders. She was a member of Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir. She was a former employee of Hamilton Beach.

Surviving her are sons: Carlton Biggs – Plymouth, N.C., Reginald Biggs – Roper, N.C., Morace Biggs – Hassell, N.C.; daughters: Freda Biggs – Paterson, N.J. and Wanda White – Bronx, N.Y.; brothers: Jerry Sanders – Plymouth, N.C., Oris Sanders – Plymouth, N.C., Charles Sanders – Jamesville, N.C., Willie Sanders – Plymouth, N.C., Larry Sanders – Plymouth, N.C.; sisters: Deloris Goddard – Plymouth, N.C., Kaye Boone – Plymouth, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two nieces she raised, Aja Sanders – Plymouth, N.C. and Monica Sanders – Georgia.

The family will be receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Toodle’s Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, Kaye Boone, 282 Reno Road, Plymouth.
