Mrs. Bettie Jo Ann Todd Campbell Goodwin, age 79, a resident of Vanceboro, NC died Wednesday, July 9, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Eric Hill. Burial will follow on the Hill Family Farm in Vanceboro, NC. Gregory Hill, Mark Scott, Cotton Manning, Aaron Wilkins, Noland Wilkins and Stan Kittrell will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Goodwin was born in Fulton, Kentucky on March 1, 1934 daughter of the late William Everette Todd and  Mary Louise Carver Todd. On January 20, 1951, she married the late Edward G. Campbell, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 14, 1973. Mrs. Goodwin married Louis “Pete” Goodwin on September 20, 1975, who survives. Mrs. Goodwin was a classical trained pianist as well as an entrepreneur. She lived her life with a song in her heart and a smile on her face. She loved the Lord and her family. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Life Gate Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church pianist.

In addition to her husband Louis, of the home, Mrs. Goodwin is survived by her children: Edward Campbell, Laura Jean Campbell Peterson and husband Donald and Linda Kathleen Campbell Hill and husband Van Eric Hill, her siblings: Dorothy “Dot” Todd, James “ Jimmy” Todd and Peggy Todd,  grandchildren: Adrian Byington and husband Adam , Dennis Campbell, Dianna Jo Mainville Bosman, Paul Mainville, Sr., Dawn Peterson Martin and husband Rick, Sandra Peterson Miller and husband Dennis, Meredith Peterson Scott and husband Mark, Amber J. Hill and Gregory Hill, great grandchildren: Karlie Campbell, Emma Byington, Abagail Murray, Kennedy Edward, Hanna Mary Bosman, Aubin Lemar, Brady Lemar, Adelaide Manville, Paul Mainville, Jr., Zapporah Mainville, Justin Smith, Hailey Smith, Dillon Miller, Dalton Miller, Weston Miller, Payton Miller, Meghan Scott, Keigen Scott and Carter Scott a great great grandchild: Annalyn Smith.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Goodwin is preceded in death by a sister: Linda Jean Todd Monty, a daughter: Mary Jo Campbell Mainville and a grandson: Daniel G. Mainville

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2013, prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m.- 11:45 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC.
