Property owners paid Tyrrell County $37,638 in June,
Allison Snell, tax administrator Allison Snell reported to the county commissioners recently.
Of that amount, $15,482 was paid on the 2012 real estate levy, $6,701 on current-year motor vehicle tax, and $1,299 on solid waste fees for 2012.
At month’s end property owners owed $198,923 on the 2012 levy and 508,439 for all years dating back to 2001.
The 2013 tax bills were delivered July 23 and show a two-cent increase t0 69 cents per $100 valuation in property tax, while the solid waste fee remains at $100.
Property owners who pay their bills by July 31 will get a two percent discount. Those who pay their accounts in full in August will get a one-percent discount.
There is no early payment discount on the $100 solid waste fee.
