Mr. Lewis Warren Davis, age 80, a resident of Nashville, NC and a former resident of Washington and Chocowinity, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the home of his daughter Cindy Elliott.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Rev. David Joyner and Bob Elliott. Burial will follow in the Angetown Cemetery in Jamesville. Tony Davis, Josh Massey, Shawn Yates, Bob Elliott, Christopher Elliott, Jeff Passot and William Clark will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Davis was born in Roper, NC on July 26, 1933 to the late Joseph and Edna Singleton Davis. He married Callie Jeanette Ange who preceded him in death. On January 11, 1997 he married Thelma Lovett who survives. He was a retired fork lift driver after 15 years of service with Singer Furniture.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Thelma Lovett Davis, two daughters, Cindy D. Elliott and husband Bob of Nashville, NC, Alice D. Rogers and husband Ed of Charlotte, one son, Ricky Davis of Washington, four step-daughters, Penny Ross of Virginia, Valerie Demblowski of Virginia, Becky Franklin of Arizona, Vicky Nugent of Virginia, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, seven brothers, Dennis Davis of Maryland, Bobby Davis of New Bern, Howard Davis of Pactolus, Joe Davis of New Jersey, Grayson Davis of Tarboro, Leonard Davis of Catawba, South Carolina, Charlie Davis of Hendersonville and one sister, Julia Davis Price of Jamesville. He was preceded in death by one son, Joey “Kink” Davis, two brothers, John Davis, Jimmy Davis and three sisters, Callie Mae Davis Bennett, Eva Beddard and Alice Davis.
The family will receive friends from 11: 00 am until 11:45 am prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
