On Aug. 6, 2013, at approximately 11 p.m., deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a license checkpoint on Asbury Church Road near Whootentown Road in Washington. During the operation, deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle that came through the checkpoint. Deputies searched the passenger car and located two small baggies of marijuana, a larger bag containing marijuana, digital scales and a box of plastic sandwich bags.

As a result, Deputy Zach Martin arrested Milbert Lee Credle Jr., 29, of Sam Graddy Road in Washington, and charged him with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Credle was transported to the magistrate’s office and held on a $3,000 secured bond set by Magistrate David Curtis.
