William Henry Rollins

Mr. William Henry Rollins, age 88, a resident of 2097 Arlington Blvd, Greenville, and formerly of Washington, died Thursday morning August 29, 2013.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday September 1, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Jerry Waters.  Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.  Richard Gerard, Sam Windley, Raymond Daniels, Kenneth Keech, William Lilley and Brian Thorne will serve as pallbearers. 

Mr. Rollins was born in Wayne County on June 10, 1925, son of the late Edward Franklin Rollins and Nannie Forbes Davis Rollins. He was married to Lola Nichols Rollins who preceded him in death on December 27, 2006. He was lab technician for 26 years at the former Beaufort County Hospital and was a salesman for Carolina Surgical until his retirement. Mr. Rollins loved his family, to travel, fish and to work with the kids at the 15th Street Church of God Annual Barbeque. He was a member of 15th Street Church of God and served as Sunday School Superintendent and the Men’s Ministry.

Mr. Rollins is survived by his daughters: Nancy Rollins Smith and husband Kenny of Washington and Faye Rollins Asby and husband Charlie of Winterville; his brothers:  Marvin Rollins of Savannah, GA, Dewey Rollins of Goldsboro, NC and Jack “Pepper” Rollins of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren:  Chad Lee Waters, Cortney Waters Harris and Penny Asby Thorne and his great grandchildren: Madison Best, Brantley Taylor Waters, Addison Harris, Caroline MacKenzie Thorne and Carson Douglas Thorne. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: James Rollins and Frank Rollins.

 The family will receive friends 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter, Nancy Smith located at 107 Croatan Street, Washington, NC.
