Gospel Jubilee
There will be a Gospel Jubilee on Sunday, September 15 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Grove Church of Christ. This program will feature different choirs and praise dancers from our area churches. The church is located 410 South Road, Street, Columbia, NC. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. Sponsored by the Pastor’s Aide Ministry of Zion Grove Church
Farm Bureau Annual Meeting
Tyrrell County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Tyrrell County Farm Bureau Office(102 Old Columbia Road). All members are invited to attend. Door prizes will be awarded and light refreshments will be served.
Pastor Anniversary
The pastor’s care ministry of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Columbia(Gum Neck), NC invites all to come celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our pastor, Rev Joan Batson, Sunday Sept 8, 2013. Beginning with morning worship at 11:30 am. Guest Speaker Evangelist Marion Barrow of St Reddick Baptist Church, Belhaven,NC and at 3 pm Rev Harry L. Whitley, moderator of the Albemarle Union and pastor of New Chapel Baptist Church in Plymouth, NC. Food and fellowship following the 3 pm service.
River Roaming Educational Boat Tours
Columbia Theater in Columbia. Take a ride on the beautiful Scuppernong River and learn about the history and habitats of the Columbia and southern Albemarle area. Tours scheduled Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Maximum 10 riders per trip;reservations required. Free, but donations are requested for this enjoyable excursion. Children must be at least 6 years old to ride. Columbia Rotary Club

Volunteers Needed
The Creswell area of Washington County desperately needs more volunteers to deliver to home bound clients in Creswell. Tyrrell County Library Hours
The Tyrrell County Public Library hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Free Diabetic Education
Columbia Medical Center is offering free diabetic education to all their diabetic patients and caregivers. To schedule an appointment with the diabetes team please call 252-796-0689. Classes are given on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 am-4 pm at Columbia Medical Center, 208 N Broad St. Columbia

Inner Banks Hotline Thrift Store
The Inner Banks Hotline Thrift Store is located in downtown Columbia. The store accept gently used clothing, furniture, and househld items. Donation dropoff is located behind store, accessible by Elm Street. Inner Banks Hotline Thrift tore is now operating under our Winter Hours: Sunday-Closed, Monday- closed, Tuesday-Friday 10 am-5 pm and Saturday- 9 am- 12 pm. Proceeds support Tyrrell County’s domestic violence and sexual assault hotline, prevention and intervention program, shelter, and advocate program. Volunteers are always needed. Boys and Girls Clubs
Boys and Girls Clubs nationwide are benefiting from car donations. The Boys and Girls Club offer safe and enriching environments for kids. Book Signing
The Columbia Theater will host Dean Roughton for an author signing event for his new book of humorous essays, “The Most Educated Idiot I Know,” on Friday, September 13 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm with a reading given at 6:30 pm.
