Wade Hampton “Hamp” Waters, III, age 47, a resident of Washington Park, NC, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his home. There will be a celebration of his life at 3:30 PM, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church officiated by The Rev. Kevin Johnson. The family will receive friends following the service in the church atrium and other times at the home.

Hamp was born January 19, 1966 in Washington, NC, son of Catherine Hutchinson Waters and Wade Hampton Waters, Jr. who survive. He graduated with the class of 1984 from Washington High School and attended ECU for two and a half years. Hamp was an avid reader and loved water skiing and other activities on the Pamlico River. He also enjoyed gardening, snow skiing and walking.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Emilia Barksdale and husband Bruce of Kansas City, MO and Ronny Hutchinson and wife Gail of Elizabethtown, NC; several first cousins and three very special cousins, Robbie Bourne and wife Barbie, Kemp Weise and husband Tom and David Bourne and wife Lori.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Catherine and D.A. Hutchinson and Myrtle and Wade Waters and his uncles, Alex and Jimmy Hutchinson.
