Hilda Lee Hill Dixon

Mrs. Hilda Lee Hill Dixon, age 94, a resident of 95 Ballard Street, Chocowinity, NC, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. Henry Horne and Rev. Tim Hodges. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Tony Mumford, Timmy Mumford, Ben Hodges, Adam Dixon, Virgil Bright and Michael Kosto will serve as pallbearers. Tavner Dixon will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Beaufort County on February 5, 1919 to the late Henry Hilliard Hill and Catherine Jane Taylor Hill. On June 1, 1935, she married the late Charlie Mayhue Dixon, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 26, 2001. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by three daughters, Mary Etta Hill and husband Billy of Chocowinity, NC, Catherine Sue Price and husband Charles of Camden, SC and Joyce Bright of Chocowinity, NC, a son, Charlie M. “C.M.” Dixon, Jr. and wife Jeannie Allcox Dixon of Vanceboro, NC, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dixon is preceded in death by two sisters, Cassie Hill and Beulah Mae Downs.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC.
