Lawrence Snowden Zeigler

Mr. Lawrence Snowden Zeigler, age 82, a resident of 516 Aberdeen Drive, Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 24, 2013 surrounded by family and joined his Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday October 26, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by Pastor Josh Davenport. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Zeigler was born in Vienna, VA on August 24, 1931, son of the late Snowden Wolf Zeigler and Edith Sadler Zeigler. On January 22, 1949, he married the former Frances Robinson who survives. Mr. Zeigler retired from the U.S. Army after 36 ½ years’ service. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and served as a deacon and an elder at Fairview Christian Church for over 20 years.  He loved animals, was a Shriner and Mason.

He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Frances of 64 years, daughters: Linda Dillon and husband, Mike of Bumpass, VA; Judith Davis and husband, Doug of Mechanicsville, VA and Jennifer Etters and husband, John of Chesterfield, VA: his granddaughter: Shay Franck and husband, Matt of Richmond, VA; and his great grandchildren: Sarah Etters of Chesterfield, VA, Jaden Coleman, Serena Coleman and Erica Franck all of Richmond, VA.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at his home.
