Violet Sawyer Dixon

Mrs. Violet Sawyer Dixon, age 85, left this life on Sunday, November 3, 2013 to be reunited on the other side with her husband, James Elric Dixon, who left September 10, 1995.  There they will now together experience the joys of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, November 7, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC, conducted by Reverend Linwood Lewis, Reverend Ronnie Gurganus and Reverend Marc Swanner. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Mrs. Dixon was born at South Creek in Beaufort County on September 3, 1928, to the late Frederick Brian Sawyer and Rosa Allen Sawyer Howard. She was married to James Elric Dixon on April 9, 1944. She was a homemaker who spent most of her married life in the Hodges Chapel community of Chocowinity. Mrs. Dixon attended the Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church of Washington, NC.

Survivors include one son, James Frederick Dixon and wife, Carolyn of Greenville; two grandsons, Christian Dixon and wife Amanda of Apex; Jonathan Dixon and wife Tabatha of Fuquay-Varina; and four great grandsons, Aiden, Jude, Justus and Landon, all of Wake County. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy L. Sawyer.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday, November 6, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Frederick and Carolyn Dixon at 1930 Tara Court, Apt. 102, Greenville, NC.
