Beaufort County will have the rare opportunity to hear Mark Schultz croon Christmas tunes.
The award-winning Contemporary Christian singer and pianist will be at First United Methodist Church. The church is sponsoring the concert in conjunction with the Bridge FM radio station.
Schultz has sold more than 1.3 million albums and earned 10 No. 1 singles to date.
He landed the top spot on Billboard magazine’s Christian Adult Contemporary Songwriter list and has been featured on “48 Hours” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
His 2005 release, “Mark Schultz Live: A Night of Stories & Songs,” was certified Platinum by the R.I.A.A. and earned Schultz his first GMA Dove Award.
“He usually does really big crowds, but this is definitely a family event,” said Laura Gerard, one of the organizers of the event. “He’ll sing mostly Christmas songs but will probably play a few songs from his latest album, too.”
Doors at First United Methodist Church open at 6:30 p.m. for Sunday’s 7 p.m. show.
Tickets to the concert are $15. As of this week, only 70 of the 400 tickets were still available and may be purchased at FUMC during business hours. A few tickets are available at the Washington-Beaufort Chamber of Commerce, the Rich Company and Birds Unlimited in Greenville.
