Alma Gibbs Gibbs, 90, of 12526 North Lake Rd., Engelhard, died Dec. 12, 2013 at her residence.

Born in Hyde County, May 8, 2013, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Nancy G. Gibbs. She was married to Edgar Gibbs who preceded her in death. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. A good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was known for her hard work ethic and her garden.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday at the family plot in the Gibbs Family Cemetery. Russ Smith and Steven Mills will officiate.

Surviving are a brother, Bobby Ray Gibbs; two daughters, Alice G. Armstrong and husband James of Fairfield, Mary Joyce Gibbs of Engelhard; a son, Eugene Tooley Gibbs and wife, Debbie of Engelhard; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Stewart Gibbs, Henry Bryan Gibbs and Joseph Gibbs; and three sisters: Christine G. Williams, Doris G. Meekins and Olive Gibbs.
