VIDANT BEAUFORT HOSPITAL | CONTRIBUTEDTHE FIRST: The arrival of 2014 wasn’t the only thing celebrated at Vidant Beaufort Hospital on New Year’s Day. Some of the hospital’s staff, two parents and others celebrated the birth of Zy'air Nevaeh O'Neal as the first baby born at the hospital in 2014. The baby, weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, was born at 12:56 a.m. Hospital volunteers Jo and Amy Rowe and Mary Williamson present Zy'air's parents Bernice O'Neal and Quentin Spencer with a gift basket. It is an annual tradition for hospital volunteers to put together a basket filled with gift items for the first baby born at the hospital in the new year.
