Joseph Alton Andersen, age 16, a resident of 2604 Mouth of the Creek Road, Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. John Ponds. Burial will follow in Warren Memorial Cemetery, Blounts Creek. Shane Lewis, Chris Furman, Anthony Furman, Lang Jones, Jay Mombearts and Rick Barber will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Andersen was born in Chowan County on June 19, 1997, to the late John Alan Andersen and Christina Story Furman who survives. He attended Southside High School and worked as a bag boy at Food Pride in Chocowinity.
Mr. Andersen is survived by his mother, Christina S. Furman and husband Bobby of Blounts Creek; maternal grandparents, Sheryl Pierce and Rick Barber of Tyner, NC; paternal grandparents, Donald and Rebecca Furman of Blounts Creek; great-grandmother, Mary Bivens, of Edenton and two sisters, Haylee Boseman of Oregon and Chelsea Cram of Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
