Annale J. McClure

Mrs. Etta “Annale” Johnson McClure, age 88, a former resident of Aurora, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Christ Vision Church, 15001 Hwy 33 East, Blounts Creek, conducted by Pastor Ray Webb.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Jason Bright, Scott McClure, Joe Hooker, Framan Edwards, Melvin Mitchell and Herman Michaels.

Mrs. McClure was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 4, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Leroy Johnson and Annis Jane Shaw Johnson.  Mrs. McClure was a homemaker. She was a very active member of Christ Vision Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. McClure had been active in the Brownies and later the Girl Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed craftwork and sewing.

On September 23, 1946, she married Robert Horace McClure, who preceded her in death, June 3, 2013.

Mrs. McClure is survived by her children, Deborha Lee Tooms Jacobetz (Steve) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Robert Randell McClure (Brenda) of McLeansville, N.C., Cynthia Ann Smith (Ray) of Blounts Creek, Sandra Marie Bright (Michael) of Merritt, N.C.; brother, Vernon Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Fern Ewers of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Johnson and Russell Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday at Christ Vision Church.
