From the Ruth’s House Board
It was a year ago this month that a community vision became a reality when Ruth’s House opened the doors of a safe shelter to serve victims of domestic violence throughout Beaufort County. To celebrate the occasion, on Feb. 28, Harvest Church will host a dinner to recognize and honor all those who made this possible. Joining Ruth’s House board, volunteers, donors, invited guests and staff will be First Lady Ann McCrory.
“We are honored to have such a distinguished guest,” said Deb Ryals, president of Ruth’s House. “First Lady Ann McCrory has demonstrated a deep concern for the victims of domestic violence and we appreciate her show of support.”
In addition to shelter, Ruth’s House also provides counseling, court advocacy, victims’ assistance and community education.
