On Feb. 13, 2014, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested David Shane Polk, 32, of 1904 E. Sixth St. in Greenville. Polk’s arrest stemmed from investigators conducting a traffic stop on Polk’s vehicle after witnessing a moving violation on Carolina Avenue in Washington. K-9 Elza alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. Investigators seized a quantity of heroin packaged in wax paper bindles.

Polk was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Polk was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
