On Feb. 13, 2014, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Ralph Lee Moore, 60, of 1500 Horsepen Swamp Road in Washington. Moore’s arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints of Moore’s involvement in the sale and distribution of heroin from his residence in Washington. Investigators conducted surveillance of Moore and conducted a traffic stop on Moore’s vehicle. Moore failed to stop for blue lights and siren and led investigators on a short low-speed chase. A search of Moore and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 10 dosage units of heroin packaged in wax paper bindles and a used syringe.
Moore was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor flee to elude law enforcement. Moore was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
