BELHAVEN – Ron Winfield, a Belhaven native, and his wife Heike, have traveled all over the world through his 20 years of service in the United States Army only to finally decide to move back to good ol’ Beaufort County and open a new business: WinBrandt Creations and Company in downtown Belhaven.

With the closing of several businesses in the downtown area, the Winfield’s “wanted to bring something nice to Belhaven,” said Heike Winfield.

Winfield, a Desert Storm veteran, and his wife, an artist, started about three years ago, dabbling in arts-related jobs and creations in the Belhaven area, according to Heike Winfield. Now, the couple, joined by seven other local artists, has a fully functioning business in which “you will discover one of a kind arts and crafts made by local artisans,” according to WinBrandt’s Facebook page.

According to Heike Winfield, WinBrandt offers an array of services, including custom framing and refinishing furniture as well as custom orders. It also has several ongoing projects that yield products such as mosaics from shattered glass, custom pillows and dolls, watercolor and blank ink paintings and T-shirt printing for children.

WinBrandt Creations and Company is located at 283 E. Water St. and operates from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Sundays in which it is closed.
