VIVIAN MARIE BOONE FISHER

Vivian Marie Boone Fisher, age 94, a resident of 400 Oak Dr., Washington, NC, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 5, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. There will be a reception following the service in All Saints Hall.

Mrs. Fisher was born in Beaufort County on September 25, 1919, daughter of the late Joseph Henry Boone and the late Estelle Mitchell Boone. She was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School and attended East Carolina Teacher’s College. She married Joffre Robert Fisher on September 28, 1941 who preceded her in death on February 2, 1984. She was the manager of the Sears Store in Washington at the time of her retirement in 1978. Mrs. Fisher was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Washington.

Surviving is her son, Joffre Robert Fisher, Jr., and his wife, Jane Alligood Fisher. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by three brothers: Nathaniel Boone, Harry Boone, and Jamie Boone and three sisters: Hannah Boone Cutler, Mamie Boone Woolard, and Ethyl Boone Dudley.

Mrs. Fisher has donated her body to East Carolina University Medical School.
