The Terra Ceia baseball team was faced with its toughest matchup of the season on Monday—the baseball dynamo Lawrence Warriors.

With the score stagnant at 2-2, the Knights battled the Warriors for two extra innings, but failed to capitalize on an upset opportunity, losing 3-2.

Lawrence starting pitcher Jarrett Harrell scored the go-ahead run in the ninth after he was hit by a pitch and later scored on an error.

Terra Ceia starting pitcher Austin Roscoe and Chase Furlough fanned a combined seven Warriors.

Lawrence won the Tarheel Conference with a 17-6 overall record last season, and is considered one of the top NCISAA squads in the state.

Terra Ceia will look to put the disappointing loss behind them when the team faces Hobgood on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
