NATALIE WAYNE | CONTRIBUTED LIVESTOCK: On April 23, the 23rd Annual Hyde County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale will feature a show consisting of market goats, lambs and hogs. Seventy-four participants will compete for Grand Champion and Reserve Champion. There will also be competition for Junior and Senior Grand Champion as well as Reserve Champion Showmanship. The event will also feature a fashion show in which participants can dress up their animals for a fashion walk. Three people have volunteered for the “Kiss the Pig” contest. There will be a booth at the Livestock Show that will have a picture of each volunteer on containers for people to drop money in. Whoever has the most money in their container by 6:30 p.m. will have to kiss a pig in the show ring. The money raised will send a child to 4-H Summer Camp. Throughout the day, the 4-H Livestock Committee will be selling barbeque plates, sponsored by Coastal Agrobusiness. An awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m., in which ribbons and trophies for all winners. At 7:30 p.m., animals will go on sale. Please come out and support the youth of Hyde County.
