Canning, freezing program offered

The NC Cooperative Extension Service will sponsor an educational program on Canning and Freezing foods on May 14, 2014, at the Beaufort County Extension located at 155 Airport Road, Washington. The session will be held from 1 p.m. to -4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14.

The program will cover-pressure canning techniques for vegetables and meats, boiling water bath method for pickles, jams and jellies, as well as methods on how to freeze vegetables, fruits and meats.

Louise Hinsley Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development and FCS, will teach each session.  You may bring your pressure canner lid to be checked. Please call 252-946-0111, if you plan to attend.
