Pain meds arrest in Chocowinity

On June 10, 2014, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Kent Williams Jr., age 48, of 65 Elks Circle in Chocowinity. The arrest warrant stemmed from an investigation conducted by members of the drug unit that involved a controlled purchase of a Level II trafficking amount of Hydrocodone (Schedule III controlled substance). This investigation is part of the ongoing effort to suppress the rising number of individuals involved in the use, sale and distribution of prescription pain medication in Beaufort County.
Kent Williams was arrested and charged with Level II trafficking in opiates by possession and Level II trafficking in opiates by transportation. Williams was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
