On Aug. 24, 2014, at 2:10 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault that occurred at a residence on Gail Avenue in Chocowinity. Deputies responded to Vidant Beaufort Hospital to speak with the victim. The victim was treated for facial bone fractures and later released.

After conducting an investigation, Deputy Javier Meza applied for and obtained a warrant charging Tony Daniel Vincent Jr., 29, of Gail Avenue in Chocowinity with assault inflicting serious bodily injury. Vincent was arrested on Aug. 26 and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond set by Magistrate Eric Holmes.
