Grace Taylor McCoy, of Dover, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. Grace was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a true friend and neighbor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland D. McCoy Sr., parents, Other and Rosa Taylor, and her brother, Roland E. Taylor.

She is survived by her son, R.D. McCoy Jr., and wife Charlene, of Dover, and daughter, Sonia Christian of the home; five grandchildren: Rolanda Toler Whitford and husband Mike, Rhonda Toler and Blake French; Kimberly McCoy Hand and husband Robert; Liz McCoy Highsmith and husband Chris; and Ashley Christian; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Whitford and John Thomas French. Her extended family includes Christine French and Marie Hardison.

Grace was an active member of Woodmen of the World where she served as secretary and was awarded numerous awards. She was a member of Wintergreen Original Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was a volunteer at J.W. Smith Elementary School for many years.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Wintergreen Original Free Will Baptist Church. Family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
